8 million tonnes of plastic is going into our oceans each year.

It is up to US to change this statistic. We've done some damage... that's no secret.

The question is, what can we do to reverse that damage? What can YOU do to change the course of the future?

Refuse the use of single use plastic, re-use your containers, jars and bottles, recycle your waste properly, return your recyclable goods to a collection point and 'return and earn', get yourself a stainless steel Clean Oceans bottle (if you don't already have one) and re-fill it at our re-fill stations along Sydney's eastern beaches.

Most importantly focus on re-educating people! Start by preaching to your family and friends, sharing your passion for change and inspiring them to make change too. Make it unacceptable within your social group to buy plastic bottled water and carry your re-usable bottles and cups everywhere with you so when people need a vessel for water, coffee, chai, turmeric latte (if you're in Bondi) then YOU'RE THERE TO SAVE THE DAY.

The only way we can begin to reverse the astronomical damage we've already inflicted upon our beautiful ocean is to take massive action and to encourage others to do the same.
